This door frame had been previous repaired by another contractor using a traditional splice. This repair had failed and caused the rot to spread further into the door frame.
The old repair was removed along with further original timber where rot and decay had spread. The area was sanded and prepared with Dry Fix Uni and the the repair was carried out using Dry Flex 1 and Iroko hardwood that had been manufactured to match the original profile.
Once the repair had cured it was sanded and Dry Flex SF was applied before another sand and prime.
It was then touched in with the customer’s own paint.
